It has come to our attention that a few PowerSkin products have been experiencing charging issues since the new iPhone iOS7 update. In short, apparently simultaneous charging of your iPhone 5 and PowerSkin through your computer’s USB port seems not to be working. We’ve looked into this unique issue in depth and have an answer for you.

Question- Why won’t my iPhone 5 PowerSkin or PoP’n for iPhone 5 charge my smartphone while it is connected to my computer’s USB port?

Answer- In iOS6, Apple did not have a specific restriction for simultaneous charging of the PowerSkin and Apple product, so the PowerSkin was able to charge and discharge at the same time when connected to a PC USB port. However, with the new iOS7 update simultaneous charging is restricted. As a result, the PowerSkin will not charge and discharge at the same time if connected to a PC USB port as a power source. You are still able to use a USB wall charger to support simultaneous charging. Alternatively, you may charge the PowerSkin and iPhone separately when using a PC USB port.

This only seems to be an issue with Apple products which have updated to the new iOS7 platform, and not all products are experiencing this issue. In just a few weeks we will be unveiling a brand new product for iPhone 5S which works perfectly with iOS7 and is pretty darn sexy, too.
