When you typically think of golf, you think of Argyle socks, polo shirts, tradition, and pristine fairways. However, there is another type of golf making it’s way across the world and on these courses, you’ll see a little less tradition, a lot more obstacles, and a whole bunch of flying discs!
“Four!” is the main sound your’ll hear on a disc golf course as colorful discs go wizzing by, some flying perfectly into the basket and others taking a more uncontrolled rout into a tree or bush.
Chris, a passionate disc golfer, has been playing the sport for several years now.
“At first it was just a reason to get out of the house, but now, I love it. There is nothing better than being outside with your friends and being able to go at your own pace.”
“Depending on the course or park, the rules can be really laid back and you can pretty much play shirtless or with a beer in hand.”
“A lot of people don’t think it, but there actually is a lot of sport and agility to disc golf. It really takes a lot of time and practice to develop your skill and know how to throw against the wind, how to angle it perfectly around trees, or deal with different terrains.”
“Unlike regular golf being played on rolling green lawns, disc golf courses are set up on the sides of mountains, in sand, and in the middle of deserts, even. There are hills and drop offs and rivers and lakes to play through, but that is what makes it so much fun. Each course is different and you have to be flexible and bend your skill to meet the needs of the course.”
“There is a lot of comradery out on the courses, but a lot of competition, too. Even if you are just competing against yourself, you still find a lot of passion in doing it. I’ve seen men and women who are very basic beginners to incredibly talented professionals. Everyone develops at their own pace and really has a lot of fun doing it.”
“I think if we had more passions like this that took us out of the house, away from our video games, out in the fresh air and sunlight, bonding with other people, there would be a lot more love and a lot less fighting in the world.”
“Just being able to listen to my music and getting exercise, all while being outside, there is no greater passion for me than that. I would suggest everyone come out and try their hand at disc golf. I often see a lot of dads with their kids out. Everyone is always having so much fun and most parks are either free or require only a few dollars to play.”
As I talked to Chris, I asked him how long a round of disc golf typically lasts.
“Depends on the course,” he said, “could take an hour, could take 3 or 4.”
“And in that much time,” I asked, “you lose a lot of battery life from your phone constantly playing music?”
“Ya,” he said.
“Well,” I said, “I have something you are definitely going to be interested in.”
From my backpack I pulled out the never yet seen, PowerSkin Recharge…..
“This thing is awesome,” said Chris, taking it in his hands and turning it over, gazing at every angle. “I could definitely use this. It is actually really small and light weight. Not bulky or heavy at all. It would easily fit in my bag or even pocket and keep my phone going for hours. I haven’t see one like this before.”
“And with all these features…….”
We had to cut Chris off there. After all, this is just a sneak peek of Recharge. If you would like to find out more, follow us on Facebook and keep your eyes open for more real life revealings of Recharge. and sever other new products that will be available in the coming months.
